Civil Cases
Civil suits, appeals and execution before the civil courts in Lucknow.
Learn more →Suits for declaration of title, status or rights, and for cancellation of documents.
A declaratory suit asks the court to declare a person's legal character or right to property (Section 34, Specific Relief Act, 1963) — for example, that you are the owner of a property, that a document is void, or that a relationship or status exists. A suit may also seek cancellation of a document that is void or voidable (Section 31).
Where you can seek further relief, such as possession, you must ask for it in the same suit, and time limits apply — generally three years from when the right to sue arises.
